Who we are
Burst is made by Otaku Development (Daniel Leivers), Bristol, United Kingdom. This policy covers the Burst iOS app and its iMessage extension.
What we collect
Nothing. Burst has no account system, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising, and no server of its own. The app makes no network requests to us, because there is no "us" to send anything to.
Your photos and videos
Burst asks for access to your photo library so it can show your burst photos, Live Photos, and videos, and turn the ones you pick into GIFs and MP4s. All of that happens on your device. Burst never uploads, transmits, or stores your media anywhere else, and it never modifies or deletes the originals in your library.
You can limit Burst to selected photos, or revoke access entirely, at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
Purchases
The optional Burst Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase made through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and shows us nothing about you personally — no name, no payment details. Burst checks your purchase locally with StoreKit to unlock Pro features on your device.
iCloud Photos
If your library uses iCloud Photos and a photo you pick isn't on your device, iOS downloads it from your iCloud — the same thing that happens when you open it in the Photos app. That download is between your device and Apple; Burst is not involved and cannot see it.
Children
Burst does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children — it has no mechanism to collect information at all.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Burst ever changes how it handles your data, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top before that version ships.
